So what are you trying to say (或 tell us)?
He can talk for hours without saying anything!
英国政治讽刺剧 Yes, Prime Minister 里,新首相准备要发表第一次电视演讲,首相府的新闻发言人问他:--- So what are you going to talk about?--- Well, about me, of course. --- Yes, I know it's about you. But what are going to say?--- (首相懵了) Say.......!?
美国人常说 talk the talk, walk the walk, 例如 She sure talks the talk, but can she walk the walk?
It takes courage to stand up and speak. It also takes courage to sit down and listen. 英美国会下院的议长都叫 speaker,大概是因为TA必须有本事大声喝止不守规矩的议员,“Stop it and sit down”!
TA Tell me how to use your phone, 看有多少人能比较流畅地说出来、而不说 like this / like that 的?
Can you believe it!?
同事摇头表示无语: I'm telling you! (或 Tell me about it!
